Bluegrass: The Band

Bluegrass: The Band was born from a simple and irresistible idea: take the catalog of The Band — one of the greatest American groups — and reimagine it through the lens of bluegrass. Frank Drake and Ethan Robbins co-founded the project in Boston, building a four-to-five piece ensemble capable of delivering the tight, four-part vocal harmonies that made songs like The Weight, Up on Cripple Creek, and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down feel inevitable.

The project draws a direct line between two worlds that were never as far apart as people think. Robbie Robertson, Levon Helm, and the rest of The Band were steeped in the same Americana soil that bluegrass grew out of. Playing their music this way isn't a novelty — it's a homecoming.
