I teach guitar, mandolin, bass, songwriting, and music theory — all levels welcome, from complete beginners to working musicians looking to go deeper.

My approach starts from the ground up. That means theory first: understanding why music works the way it does before drilling technique. For instrument lessons, I also spend real time on the physical side — how you hold the instrument, hand position, and economy of motion. Getting those fundamentals right early saves years of frustration later.

I'll teach any style, but my specialties are Jazz, Swing, Bluegrass, and Traditional music, along with songwriting, composition, and improvisation. If you want to write songs, understand what you're playing, or finally make sense of the fretboard, those are exactly the conversations I like having.

Lessons are mostly in-person, with remote sessions available. Rate is $80 per hour.
